About the artist
Nicole Corbett is a multidisciplinary artist whose work lives at the intersection of spiritual inquiry, material ritual, and personal transformation.
Her mixed media practice—combining photography on velvet, hand embroidery with holographic thread, glass beading, and fluorescent acrylic framing—evokes the feeling of portals more than paintings. Each piece is an offering: tactile, light-filled, and deeply rooted in Zen. She also works in ceramics as a parallel exploration of stillness, silence, and form.
Before devoting herself fully to her art, Corbett spent a decade as the founder and CEO of Worn, a women-led creative agency in New York that developed campaigns for over 100 brands including Bumble, Walmart, and Procter & Gamble. That chapter, built from the ground up, became her own creative business school—sharpening the vision, discipline, and experiential design sensibility that now inform her studio practice.
Her journey into art began even earlier, during a year in South Korea as a Boren Scholar, where she studied Korean language by day and attended Dharma talks by night. A silent retreat with a Buddhist nun catalyzed a spiritual rupture that changed her life’s direction. The themes of that awakening—impermanence, presence, and emotional freedom—continue to shape the essence of her work.
Corbett’s art is a meditation on healing. On what it means to dissolve fear, touch truth, and create beauty from stillness. She lives and works between Amagansett and Brooklyn, NY, where she shows her work privately by appointment in her Domino Sugar Refinery showroom in Williamsburg.
